The data presented herein is the tabulated result of information received from dealers everywhere; therefore, the values listed do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the publishers. The Blue Book is divided into three main sections: Section 1 - Used Organ Resale Values Section 2 - IVlodel Descriptions and Photos Section 3 - Used Organ Book (Trade-in or wholesale) Values All sections and supplements list the organs alphabetically by brand name; the publisher assumes no responsibility for omissions. The organ manufacturers, distributors and dealers alike help us keep the middle section of the Blue Book updated by providing specifications and photographs of the latest models available. To these people, we offer our most sincere thanks — without their help, the Official Organ Blue Book would not be possible. SIGHT & SOUND MUSIC SOFTWARE, INC. HOW TO USE THE BLUE BOOK SECTION 1 This section lists the average resale prices that dealers get for used organs. The important word here is AVERAGE.
The value of a specific organ model may be determined on the basis of the price show/n; however, you must consider the condition and make-ready cost of the instrument in question, plus the popularity of the brand and its style and finish in your particular area. Prices do NOT include delivery, service policy, music, or lessons. If any of these items are to be included, the selling price should be adjusted accordingly. Certain models are usually sold with an external speaker; where possible, this is indicated. The following applies to both Sections 1 and 3. A bullet (. ) to the left of a model number tells you the model is currently in production.
An asterisk (. ) in a price column means that resale value has not yet been established, either because the model is still quite new or because of lack of trading volume and information.
Note: Should you need further information on such a model, PLEASE contact the manufacturer or distributor, NOT Sight & Sound. Page numbers to the right of the prices tell where each model may be found in Section 2. No page number indicates that we have no photo or description of that model. Organ brands that are no longer manufactured are not carried in Section 2. SECTION 2 Here you'll find the photos, general specs and important features of the various used organ models.
Weinclude as many pictures of thedifferent styles and finishes of a given model as we can, to help you identify a prospective trade-in. We also indicate, when we can, the popular model name and the year each model was introduced to the market. SECTION 3 These are the Book values — average wholesale trade-in allowances. These figures help you point out to your trade-up customer how much his present model is really worth. Again, you must consider the condition, style and brand popularity of the incoming instrument. Dealer profit margins usually vary somewhat in our surveys.
The majority of dealers, however, seem to operate at the same margin of profit on used organs as on new. The Book, or wholesale trade-in prices, in this section are figured on the basis of Average Resale (from Section 1 ) less the percentage of profit margin. Ml THE BLUE BOOK PANEL We wish to thank this year's BLUE BOOK PANEL.
Their input helps the Blue Book keep pace with an ever-changing market. Following are those who granted permission to publish their names.
